Chino Hills Hardwood takes pride in their craftsmanship! We are very meticulous about testing concrete slabs, acclimating the hardwood and installing a product that will last a lifetime! Below is a snapshot of the hardwood flooring installation processes and techniques we apply on a daily basis.
Unlike fifty years ago hardwood flooring comes from different parts of the country or with exotics, the world. In earlier days trees were often used for flooring from surrounding forests.
Ambient moisture content will vary depending on your climate. In drier climates, content should be lower before the installation and vice versa with areas of higher moisture. Without any attention in testing for moisture your new floors could possibly shrink or expand.
Acclimation of hardwood floors to the jobsite, proper moisture testing and control, before, during, and after the installation plays a very important role in the behavior of your hardwood floor investment. Many hardwood manufacturers suggest keeping the relative humidity of the home in the range of 40-55% after the installation to maintain the floor's original appearance. Not doing so will cause shrinkage, swelling (buckling) or other unpleasant surprises.
The calcium chloride vapor emission test was developed over 40 years ago to quantify the volume of water vapor radiating from a concrete slab surface over time. This test is directly specified by the vast majority of the Floor Covering Industry as the primary measure of moisture acceptability for floor covering installation.
Diamond grinding is a concrete slab restoration technique that corrects irregularities such as minor pits and divots, faulting and roughness on concrete slabs. This is achieved by using diamond bits to grind the surface. This also leaves a very smooth profile-ideal for thin-mil coating or sealer applications. Diamond grinding also profiles the concrete and removes contaminants from the surface. This process enables the flooring contractor to level the underlayment.
We use dust containment systems that minimizes the airborne dust generated to permeate a home or business. Sensitive electronic equipment is no longer at risk from the harmful dust particles released during the traditional sanding process. It's a healthier environment to work in every day and cleans up what used to be an extremely dusty process.
We use high quality leveling underlayment products. These products are applied to repair, smooth and level concrete. This is especially noticeable when butting hardwood to tile. This is an example of our ability to utilize these products to make the transition from a hardwood room to a tile room very sleek!
Craftsmanship is essential in hardwood flooring installations. Long-term satisfaction comes with the initial preparation and installation of your hardwood floor. Here are some of the services we provide to ensure your new floor will last the test of time;
